Chocolate Nut Bananas

I created this nom nom for my fellow employees at work. Below are Almond and dark chocolate – covered bananas and strawberries – dipped in a blend between almond butter and dark chocolate. Feel free to use any “nut” butter you desire (peanut, cashew, walnut). This recipe includes good sources of protein & fiber, in addition calcium and iron….

Fruit & Almond Butter, Dark Chocolate Bites

Serves: 4 Cooking Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 bananas
  • 4 strawberries
  • 4-6 T almond butter
  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (walnut, almond, peanut or cashew)
  • 10-12 toothpicks

Instructions

Chop nuts into small pieces

Place almond butter and chocolate chips in small bowl

Microwave (50% power) for 1 minute - stir

Cut in pieces bananas and strawberries, as desired

Dip fruit, using toothpicks, into melted nut butter & chocolate mix

Place on plate, sprinkle with chopped nuts
